Zamfara Banditry: Shinkafi Condemns Kaura Namoda Attack, Pledges Action

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress in Zamfara State, Bilyaminu Yusuf Shinkafi, has condemned the recent bandit attack in Kaura Namoda, calling for urgent measures to end the killings and protect vulnerable communities.

Shinkafi expressed condolences to the victims’ families and residents of the affected community, lamenting the worsening security situation across the state.

He said repeated attacks had left residents living in fear, accusing the state government of failing to demonstrate the urgency and decisive leadership needed to protect lives and property.

The ADC candidate argued that residents deserved more than sympathy messages after every attack, insisting that concrete action was needed to tackle insecurity.

“The people of Zamfara deserve to live without fear. The loss of innocent lives must never become normal, and the suffering of our communities must no longer be treated as business as usual,” Shinkafi said.

He pledged that security would be the top priority of his administration if elected governor.

According to him, his government would strengthen collaboration with security agencies, improve intelligence gathering and introduce practical measures to protect vulnerable communities.

He said the measures would be aimed at restoring peace and ensuring that residents could go about their daily activities without fear of attacks.

Shinkafi also called on the state government to take urgent and measurable steps to address insecurity and prevent further bloodshed.

He urged the authorities to move beyond assurances and demonstrate a clear commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

The ADC candidate prayed for the repose of the souls of those killed in the attack and asked God to grant their families the strength to bear the loss.

He also expressed concern over the continued suffering of communities affected by banditry, stressing the need for sustained efforts to restore peace and security across Zamfara State.
