The Nigerian media industry welcomed a new addition on Wednesday, July 2, as Azu Ishiekwene, a veteran author and media expert, launched his latest book, “Writing for Media and Monetising It”. The event was a resounding success, with attendees praising the insightful contributions to the field of media and writing.
“I’m excited not just to look forward to the next six months with hope but also because, at last, my new book… was finally presented to the public on Wednesday,” Ishiekwene expressed, visibly moved by the outpouring of support from esteemed guests.
The event featured a riveting review by former presidential spokes, Dr. Reuben Abati and a panel discussion on “Reflections on the Media”, moderated by Professor Abiodun Adeniyi, with prominent media personalities Kadaria Ahmed, Ahmed Shekarau, and Emeke Ishiekwene.
In a heartwarming moment, Ishiekwene’s 5-year-old granddaughter, Ezhinne, enthusiastically responded to learning about her grandfather’s achievement, exclaiming, “My grandpa wrote a book! That’s so cool!”
With this latest publication, Ishiekwene has solidified his position as a leading voice in media and writing. “It’s not Grandpa Azu’s first book. Hopefully, my granddaughter won’t be 21 before I write the next one!” he humbly noted.
The book launch was hosted by Zainab Nda-Isaiah, Chairman of LEADERSHIP, and attended by a diverse range of professionals, including government officials, industry leaders, and media executives, including Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, and Publisher of Vanguard, Mr. Sam Amuka.
