The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi State has taken a significant step towards reconciliation and effective governance. Party leaders convened a meeting with stakeholders and state working committees to chart a strategic course for reconciliation with aggrieved members and grassroots mobilization.
Dr. Emmanuel Achimugu, Acting State Chairman of the Party, emphasized the party’s commitment to delivering effective governance for the benefit of the people. “We are committed to showcasing the party’s capability to deliver effective governance for the benefit of the people,” he said.
The meeting, attended by esteemed dignitaries, was a resounding success, thanks to the presence and contributions of all participants. The gathering aimed to position the party for impactful governance and people’s welfare.
Stakeholders resolved to work tirelessly towards winning the 2027 elections at all levels, ensuring the party’s victory in the upcoming polls. All warring parties were advised to sheathe their swords and work towards immediate reconciliation with aggrieved persons and parties.
A 10-member committee, led by Col. Suleiman Babanawa (rtd), was constituted to drive party reconciliation and growth. The committee comprises representatives from the 3 Senatorial Districts, with Comrade Solomon Bebeto as Secretary.
Hon. Ilemona A. Ichaba, Ph.D, Kogi State Publicity Secretary, Social Democratic Party, emphasized the importance of reconciliation. “All warring parties were advised to sheathe their swords and work towards immediate reconciliation with aggrieved persons and parties,” he said.
The party also identified strong stakeholders in each Local Government to provide financial and moral support to the Local Government EXCO. Stakeholders in each Local Government will take charge of E-registration and provide party registration cards to registered members.
Stakeholders reaffirmed their loyalty to the party leadership at the State and National levels. The efforts of Col. Suleiman Babanawa (rtd) and Mr. Abayomi Bello in repositioning the party in the State were commended.
The meeting was attended by dignitaries, including State Leader Col. Suleiman Babanawa, Prince Gowon Yakubu Eneche, Engr Charles G-1, and representatives from various organizations. The party sincerely appreciates the participation and valuable contributions of all attendees, which contributed to the meeting’s success.
