We’ll Stop Anyone Trying to Sabotage Tinubu’s Second Term, Says Jonah Jang

Jonah Jang, former governor of Plateau, says certain individuals are plotting to sabotage President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Jang spoke on Thursday when President Bola Tinubu visited Jos, the capital of Plateau, to sympathise with families of victims of Sunday’s attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos north LGA.

At least 28 people were killed and several others were injured when armed men suspected to be bandits attacked the community.

Addressing the affected families, Tinubu said no amount of compensation can make up for their loss.

In a statement issued on Thursday by Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy, Tinubu directed Christopher Musa, minister of defence, Waidi Shaibu, and Olatunji Disu to “unearth and find the killers” of the innocent Nigerians.

The president pledged that the government will do everything possible to ensure justice is served and to provide comfort for the bereaved families.

Jang told Tinubu during the visit that some people are trying to sabotage the next elections but will fail.

“Your Excellency, I think some people want to sabotage these coming elections, and by the grace of God we will not allow them,” Jang said.

The former governor added that Tinubu is “doing a fantastic job”, and he will be re-elected for another term, despite the rising opposition.

“Some people think they want to spoil it at this last tail end of the first tenure. By the grace of God, you’ll come back to accomplish the work,” Jang said.

“I look forward, Your Excellency, to coming to Abuja so that we really have a heart-to-heart talk. God bless you, and I wish you a safe journey and a very happy Easter.”
